Beginners Guide to Fly Fishing part 2: Flies flies flies

If it is time to fly fishing there are two options.

1. Make your own fly
2. Buy some fly

Well, let's begin with the first one.

1. How to make your first fly for fly fishing:

First of all, you will need some basic equipment:

Ther is a ton of online video and tutorial how to make fly, here is some of my favorites:

2. Buy some fly

You can buy a pack like this:

Piscifun 12pcs Dry Flies/ 40pcs Wet Flies Fly Fishing flies Kit Bass Salmon Trouts Flies Floating/Sinking Assortment with Fly Box

OR

Sort your own fly box

Keep in mind what kind of fish will be your target, you can choose from a large variety of artificial flies.

For example here are my favorite fly assortments for trout fishing:

These flies are tied really well and look really good. Have not used them yet, but very excited to give them a try. Came in a little 8 pocket case, which I like a lot.

2. Salmon

Alaska Silver Salmon Collection 20 Flies + Fly Box

I think it is an absolutely great fly kit, I used this with positive results. I caught a silver, 6 humpy's and 9 chum salmon on my last trip to AK with these. I ordered another kit in preparation for my next trip up north. The flies withheld lots of abuse and use and held up great.

Silver salmon are an absolute thrill to catch on a fly rod! They will attack a fly below the surface, and best of all, will also grab a fly floating on the top! There is no place better to fish for Silvers than the rivers of Alaska, and we have assembled a collection of 20 flies that will definitely stack the odds in your favor, and includes 2 of each of the following flies:

articulated black bunny leech
chernobyl wog
purple egg sucking bunny leech
cranberry flash fly
purple hareball leech
bubble gum hareball leech
pink spanker, popsicle
voodoo leech - orange & black
conehead manhattan
